In his intercourse with his fellow Gentlemen, he was the personification of honor.  He detested nearly anything approaching dishonor and spurned questionable business enterprise methods.  His was a simple, honorable plan and he demanded these from Some others.  He strove to formulate his steps in retaining with the injunction in the Golden Rule.
